Tom is a licensed professional with extensive experience in assisting adults and adolescents with mental and behavioral health concerns and the families of those who are struggling. He has been in the field for 19 years after a long career as an Executive in the field of Direct Marketing and Direct Mail. He graduated from Pace University with a BBA in Marketing.
In 2006 he made a career change into the mental and behavioral health field. His clinical experience started in New York by performing his NYS-OASAS CASAC internships at Arms Acres in Carmel, NY while studying for his Certificate in Chemical Dependency Counseling at SUNY Westchester.
Then in 2007, his first clinical position was as an Associate Coordinator of the Adolescent Program at the Lexington Center for Recovery. Also in 2007, he became enrolled in the Fordham University Graduate School of Social Services. After performing Graduate Level internships at Arms Acres, Four Winds Hospital in Katonah, NY, and The Lower Hudson Valley EAP in Yorktown, NY, he received his master’s degree in clinical social work in 2010.
During those years while studying at SUNY and Fordham, and after having completed his internships, Tom also was a staff counselor, case manager, and group facilitator at Arms Acres and Four Winds before leaving New York in early 2011. He moved to Florida to become the Supervisor of Intake Services at the Hazelden-Florida facility in Naples. In 2013, because of having blended a career in marketing with a strong clinical background, moved to Ft. Lauderdale to become the Director of Marketing at a facility on the east coast.
In early 2014, Tom decided to move back to Naples and held positions at Resolve Community Counseling in Naples as an outpatient therapist; as a per diem social worker on the dual diagnosis unit at Park Royal Hospital in Ft. Myers; as the evening IOP counselor at Hazelden, and in private practice providing counseling to individuals and families. He has provided clinical support services, education, and guidance to those dealing with mental and behavioral health concerns for over fourteen years.
In 2018, Tom started working with clients one-on-one personally mentoring to aid clients in transitioning from treatment into a recovering lifestyle and doing remote recovery coaching providing clients with accountability in in their post-transition period into an early recovering lifestyle.
This was the start of Dimension 456 Recovery Support Services. Tom is also certified in Adult First Aid/CPR/AED. Tom currently serves on the Advisory Board of Kimmie’s Recovery Zone and the Advisory Council of the Coalition for a Drug-Free Southwest Florida, both in Ft. Myers, FL. Tom is blessed with four great daughters, two grandsons, and is very slowly continuing to try and improve his abilities on a golf course.
Through the Divine Grace of God, and the gifts of the program and fellowship of AA for the past 25 years, he has been able to achieve many goals, get through many life challenges without a drink or a drug, and continue to have a life beyond his wildest dreams…truly a miracle! Whoo Hoo!
